Two rhinos, one of which was a calf, were discovered dead in chitwan national park

Two were found dead at the Chitwan National Park on Sunday.

According to CNP information officer Lokendra Adhikari, one baby rhinoceros (two-month-old) was found dead on the bank of Rapti River near Kasara. The rhino calf might have been killed by a tiger, it is said.

Similarly, an adult rhino of around 30 of age was found lifeless at Ratanpur Ghat of Amaltari sector. The animal was found stuck in the sand on the bank of . Its horn and hooves are intact, suggesting that the animal might have died naturally.

Last fiscal, 32 rhinos died due to poaching and natural causes in the CNP.
