The World Bank will contribute $150 million in financial assistance.



The World Bank has pledged around 17 billion rupees ($150 million) in aid for the rehabilitation of the Corona epidemic-affected . The aid was announced with the goal of providing security and long-term development in epidemic-prone .

Faris Hadad, World Bank Country Director for the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, analyzed the epidemic’s economic and impact and stated that the World Bank has decided to provide immediate relief and comprehensive rehabilitation to the affected population.

According to him, the aid will help to strengthen institutions and regulations, such as the tax and , debt , and public capital expenditure, and will aid in , rehabilitation, and sustainable development.
