Sher Deuba, the leader of the Nepali Congress, is planning to take the oath of office as prime minister today at around 5 p.m. at Shitalniwas. Deuba, on the other hand, is likely to form a small cabinet.

The -UML-led faction, on the other hand, refused to join Deuba’s coalition government.

At the meeting, UML leader Madhav Nepal stated that now that the basic goals of restoring the House and clarifying various confusing of the constitution have been met, he will withdraw the alliance and work toward UML reconciliation.

He expressed that his partners would understand his situation and advised Deuba to be as inclusive as possible when forming the government, including UML in the discussions.

Nepal was later quoted as saying that now that the primary issue has been resolved and has prevailed, he would like to devote all of his efforts to reuniting the party.

The opposition coalition has accelerated consultations in an attempt to form a coalition government led by Nepali Congress (NC) President Deuba.

The alliance decided this afternoon at a meeting to work toward forming a small cabinet in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order.

In its ruling in favor of the House of Representatives’ reinstatement, the Supreme Court also directed that Deuba be appointed Prime Minister by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the alliance’s leaders, the meeting emphasized the importance of increasing the alliance’s effectiveness.

Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UMLMadhav Kumar Nepal-Jhalanath Khanal faction, Janata Samajwadi Party’s Upendra Yadav faction, and Rashtriya Janamorcha are part of the alliance.
