Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Nepal have agreed to pay the amount to marginalized households as part of the effort program.
The agreement was signed by Kiran Kumar Shrestha, the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, and Aisani Meda Gangoda Lab, UNDP Nepal’s Resident Representative.
Following the agreement, the bank will deposit funds provided by UNDP into bank accounts for marginalized households identified through UNDP’s effort program.
Speaking at the event, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Kiran Kumar Shrestha, stated that the bank could provide concessional loans to needy entrepreneurs looking to start their own businesses.
According to UNDP Nepal’s Resident Representative Aisani Meda Gangoda Lab, for the first time, 2,500 households in the districts of Bajura, Kailali, Siraha, Saptari, Rautahat, and Syangja will receive financial assistance through the UNDP’s Efforts Program to help them earn a living.
