Nepal will receive an additional 1.6 million Covid-19 vaccines as a grant from China

China has announced that it will Nepal with an additional 1.6 million -19 vaccines as a grant.

During a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday afternoon at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi announced China’s decision to provide Nepal with 1.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines as additional grant assistance.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various issues concerning Nepal-China relations were discussed during the courtesy call.

On the occasion, the Ambassador assured Nepal that China will continue to assist the country in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, including by providing vaccines.

According to the statement, Prime Minister Deuba thanked the Chinese government for the vaccine assistance and expressed hope that China would its support to Nepal for both the Covid-19 response and recovery.
