TANAHU, July 13: Bhanu Municipality here announced public holiday on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti today. The municipality decided for the public holiday with due respect to pioneering poet of Nepali language, Bhanubhakta Acharya.
All government offices, educational institutions and public bodies are closed after the announcement of holiday today. Adikavi Bhanubhakta was born at Chundiramgha village of Bhanu Municipality in Tanahu on Asar 29, 1871BS. Similarly, he died on Asoj 6, 1925BS.
Although the birth anniversary of pioneering poet Bhanubhakta used to be celebrated for a week with the gathering of Nepali literati from Nepal and abroad, the COVID-19 caused disruption on it for two years.
