In the current fiscal year, the CPI falls by 0.35 percent

In the last 11 months of the current fiscal year, 2020/21, consumer price inflation (CPI) has decreased 0.35 to 4.19 percent.

According to a report released today by the Nepal Rastra Bank, consumer price inflation was 4.54 percent in the same period of the fiscal year 2019/20.

In the current fiscal year, food and beverage inflation was 6.22 percent, while non-food and service inflation was 2.63 percent.

When compared to the previous fiscal year, the values of ghee, cooking oil, tobacco products, non-alcohol products, and transportation subgroups increased by 30.98%, 9.84%, 9.81%, and 9.70%, respectively.

In the Kathmandu Valley, inflation has reached 3.87 percent, compared to 4.43 percent in the same period the previous fiscal year.

Similarly, Tarai experienced 4.47 percent inflation, compared to 4.86 percent in the previous fiscal year, while hilly areas experienced 4.32 percent inflation, compared to 4.13 percent in the previous fiscal year, and mountainous areas experienced 1.72 percent inflation, compared to 4.34 percent in the previous fiscal year.
