Huawei has stated that over the next five years, it will assist South Asian countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in developing 100,000 digital talents.
“Huawei expects to grow more than 100,000 ICT talents and create a vibrant digital talent ecosystem in this dynamic area, particularly Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal,” said Jay Chen, vice president of Huawei Asia Pacific, speaking at a virtual Digital Talent Regional Summit. “Within the next five years,” says the author.
The project will be carried out in partnership with governments, universities, and industrial partners, according to the company.
The government of Nepal is always working to broaden technology in the country and make the digital Nepal campaign a success by building a roster of technology experts, according to Hari Bashyal, secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The summit, titled “Cultivating a Talent Ecosystem for Inclusive Digital Prosperity,” brought together ministers and academics from the three countries, as well as experts and representatives from UNESCO and the ICT industry, to discuss joint initiatives aimed at closing digital ability gaps and promoting digital transformation in the post-pandemic economic recovery.
