Maoist leaders tell Election Commission: ‘Decision must be made soon’

KATHMANDU: JULY 9 UML with Maoist backgrounds have urged the Commission to take a quick decision on their writ petition. The leaders urged the commission to take a quick decision on the writ petition seeking the dismissal of the Maoists.

UML standing committee members Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Mani Thapa, leader Prabhu Sah, and other leaders reached the commission and met Chief Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya. “They came,” said Rajkumar , a spokesman for the commission. “They said in their application that a quick decision had to be made.”

The former UCPN (Maoist) leaders who joined the UML had filed a petition claiming that the UCPN (Maoist) had not held the party’s general convention since 2069 B
